US Army Funded National Conference

This groundbreaking event, sponsored by the US Army, will focus on exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital forensics, emphasizing workforce development and inclusivity for participants from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs). The conference will bring together leading researchers, industry experts, and practitioners to share advancements in AI-driven forensic techniques, cybersecurity, and investigative methodologies. We are seeking original and high-quality papers that contribute to the growing body of knowledge on the application of AI in digital forensics, with a particular focus on real-world applications, cutting-edge technologies, and emerging challenges.

Summer Workshop 2024

Date: 10 July 2024 Location: FIU, KFSCIS & Virtual

"The Forensic Investigations Network in Digital Sciences (FINDS) Research Center of Excellence" invites 10 students to participate in a 7-week volunteer research program this summer, running from June 19th to August 4th, 2024. This program will take place virtually through ZOOM and includes:

  • Exploration of a designated research topic
  • Weekly progress updates through presentations
  • PA final presentation summarizing the research findings
  • Development of a DRAFT research pape

Students will receive a Digital Forensics Workshop in week 1 and a Research 101 Course.

Date: 19 June 2023 Location: FIU, KFSCIS & Virtual

"The Forensic Investigations Network in Digital Sciences (FINDS) Research Center of Excellence" is offering a volunteer research program for 10 selected students over a 7-week period this summer from June 19th to August 4th, 2023. The experience will be a virtual research experience via ZOOM and will require the following:

  • Investigation of a research problem (to be assigned)
  • Weekly presentations on the progress
  • PowerPoint presentation to conclude the work
  • DRAFT Research article

Students will receive a Digital Forensics Workshop in week 1 and a Research 101 Course.

"The Forensic Investigations Network in Digital Sciences (FINDS) Research Center of Excellence" kickoff meeting will be held at KFSCIS, FIU and virtually on June 13th, 2022, at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (US)

  • The event will start with Opening Remarks from the FINDS CoE Director Dr. S. S. Iyengar followed by comments from the Dean of FIU College of Engineering and Computing (Dr. John Volakis), Deans from FAMU (Dr. Richard Alo), GSU (Dr. Stacey Duhon) and JSU (Dr. Wilbur Walters).
  • This will be followed by remarks from Interim Director of KFSCIS Dr. Jason Liu and the Keynote address by Dr. Cliff Wang (US Army Research Office) which will be followed by a panel discussion

This meeting is tentatively scheduled on May 7, 2021, via Zoom at 11:00am.

  • FIU will invite 10 undergraduate and graduate students to attend this event.
  • Students will not be paid to attend the event, but all costs associated with the workshop will be paid by FIU
